TRICK YOUR FRIENDS WITH A SIMPLE VIRUS-LIKE SELF MADE BATCH FILE

Okay so first things first, this is for educational purpose only. This is a just for fun trick you can pull out on your friends. This trick doesn't harm your computer and it is more easier to correct the prank than to set it up. We aren't against Computer Ethics. This simply is a trick, mind it.

How we do it : So what we are going to do is to create a state when the computer automatically logs off as soon as it starts up. Annoying isn't it? So to do that, we are going to create a small batch file and put it in the startup folder.

Sounds a bit confusing? Well lets sort it out in steps.

Go to Notepad, and just type 'logoff' in it. It may sound like a simple word, but when used in DOS as a command, the computer logs off.

After it is done, go to File and then go to Save As and save the file as anything.bat ( all we need is the batch file extension, *.bat. The filename can be anything )

Okay so after you've saved the .bat file, cut or copy it, and go to Start, All Programs, right click Startup, and click Open.

Paste the newly created batch file into the Startup folder

And then, make sure the batch file exists on the Startup menu.

Okay now comes the climax, all you've got to do now is to logoff and login again, and the batch file runs everytime the computer opens up, causing the computer to logoff on every startup.

The Solution

You created the problem, and you need to be responsible enough to solve it. After you've realized that the prank time is over and your friend is uber furious, restart the computer, go to safe mode, and simply delete the batch file we've created from the start folder. ( In Safe Mode, no programs automatically run at Startup ). Simple, isn't it ?

Note : I have written this stuff for educational purpose only. I don't want anybody to practice this with intentions of causing harm to anybody else's computer.

I haven't tried this in newer versions of Windows such as Vista or 7, but i've tried it in Windows XP and it works well in there. Try in newer versions and let me know ;)
