EXTEND YOUR LAPTOP BATTERY LIFE
I’ve seen many people whining about not getting enough of a battery life on their laptops. So I decided to write in this one for those people who want more of a battery life from their laptops, but don’t exactly know what to do.
Wires save life sometimes
The strongest battery eater period is the Wi-Fi. It is sometimes not possible to switch to wires sometimes, but whenever possible, try switching on wires. It totally saves the battery life. The picture below can explain how much.
No externals
If you’re running on a battery, and you want to save battery, then you would consider removing external devices such as USB mice, keyboards and such to save your battery. External devices suck up your battery very much.
No discs
Using a disc while your laptop is running on a battery will discharge your battery way sooner.
Decrease the brightness
To the fullest. Decreasing your screen’s brightness saves whole lot of battery.
Set up a power plan
You can create a power plan from the Windows power options where you can determine the screen brightness, the screen dimming time and the sleep mode time determination for the power plan you’ve just created. Creating a power plan can assure quick switching to power saving options whenever you want a longer battery life.
Multimedia can kill
Stop audio, video or whatever you’re playing or if not possible to stop it, at least lower the volume. This can be helpful for the battery.
No unwanted programs
Shut down all the unwanted programs running that can increase the CPU, RAM and HDD processes. And obviously, more processes equals more power consumption.
Don’t sleep. Hibernate!
Whenever you turn off the laptop, hibernation would be a stronger idea for better battery life because the laptop still uses some amount of power when it is on sleep mode but when it’s once hibernated, it doesn’t consume power, at all.
So these are the basic things that you can do to save your battery life. Hope you save much. Good luck.
