THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER


Windows Media Player is an awesome tool for playing in your media files. It plays your Video, Audio, Internet Radio and whatnots. I’ve been using the media player for years now and never been dissatisfied with its features, because they always keep coming. Here I will be sharing some of the media player features that can be used to get optimum usefulness.


Share your media
Did you know you can share media with the computers on your network? Means, you can use the media on their computers and they can use the media stored in your computer. This can be awesome, give it a try. Ok to turn media sharing on, go to media player, and turn on media streaming. Follow the steps on the pictures below.








Lyrics Plugin
Ever wished there was a feature that could display the lyrics automatically when a song is played? Well stop wishing and download this plugin for Windows Media Player. What is does is use the meta data stored on the song files to search it on the internet and bring in the lyrics to the Media Player Window. Isn’t that just amazing? After you download the plugin, make sure to enable it on Media Player.

Specified Search
In Windows Media Player searchbox, you can type in AND/OR operators to create a more specified results. For example, you want to listen to Romeo and Juliet by The Killers and not Dire Straits, then simply type The Killers AND Romeo and Juliet. This will show you the results of The Killers intersected with Romeo and Juliet. The picture below can explain more.

The K-Lite
The K-lite is a codec pack that allows the Media Player to play almost all the audio and/or video formats. If you have ever received  an error message called "Windows Media Player cannot play the file" then K-lite is your solution. Download it from here.

Save time by using some shortcuts.

Show video in Full Screen : Alt + Enter
Jump directly to the search box : Ctrl + E
Play/Pause : Ctrl + P
Play faster : Ctrl + G
Play Slower : Ctrl + S
Play at a normal speed : Ctrl + N
Mute : F7
Decrease the volume : F8
Increase the volume : F9
