5 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT WINDOWS 7
Today I'm gonna talk about some of the useful features of Windows 7 that most people don't know about, or lets say 'hidden features'.
So, here they are :
Get rid of that cluttered desktop
Desktop clutters can be simply horrible. I have seen people with over a 100 icons on their desktop. How are they ever gonna find a file in that desktop? Okay, time to clear your desktop! Look how clean my desktop looks like.
Okay,You want to open a program? Go to Start, and type in the program name. So how do you get your files? Simple. Go to Start, and type in your filename, or any content of the file you want. Example : I type in Microsoft, and all the Programs, Documents, Pictures related to Microsoft is displayed in one instance.
Know what's eating up your power
Curious what is using up your battery? Type in Windows+R, and type in "powercfg -energy -output C:\Energy_Report.htm"(without quotes, the part after -output determines where windows stores the output file). And the output files contains all the infos about your machine and also what is using up your power.
Pin programs on your taskbar
Tired of clicking various types to find a program you use frequently? Well this one's an awesome solution. While running on a program, right click on the taskbar icon and click 'pin this program to taskbar', and it will remain there forever.
Quicklaunch?? Seriously??
Okay, i have seen so many people whining about Windows 7 not having a Quicklaunch on its taskbar. I find it funny though, because we have so much of a better option where we can pin the programs directly to our taskbar. But nevermind, we can put Quicklaunch in Windows 7 too. All you have to do is right click on your taskbar, go to Toolbars, and click on New Toolbar option, and type ": %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch"(without quotes). Be sure you type the exact thing, and DANG!! You have a quicklaunch in your Windows 7 now !!
Parental Controls
This thing is interesting. Your kids use the computer? Then you don't have to look at their screens to monitor what they are doing. You can monitor each and every activity they are doing with the help of Parental Controls. And for the icing on the cake, you can also limit his/her activities on the computer. Sweet, right?
I take Windows 7 as the best operating systems of all time. Well for all of you those who don't, I know you will consider thinking.
