ADSL routing blues..
We can find most of the homes having ADSL as their internet connection. We always encounter a problem and that is many time due to misconfiguration of the ADSL router. So I was thinking why not we learn the basic configuration of the ADSL router ourselves. Then we don't need to get help from anybody.
So let’s see a tutorial on installing an ADSL router on a computer. For this you first need to get a userID and password which will be given to u by ADSL Company for accessing the internet from your home.
These are the instruction which u can follow while installing the router:
· Basically see that the router’s ADSL/link light is continuous or not. If not then continuous and is blinking then connect the main line to the splitter given with the router, then connect 1 port with the router and another with the telephone line
· Connect the router’s power adapter to the power socket and give the power properly
· Now connect the router to the computer with the Ethernet cable (RJ-45 connecter)
· Open your browser (Internet Explorer, Google chrome, Firefox, etc.)
· On the address bar( where you write the name of the website) type 192.168.1.1
· Then is ask for username and password, by default it is admin
· There you can find the setup page
· Click on network followed by WAN
· In default route selection, choose Auto
· Select VPI-8 and VCI-81
Select Encapsulation –LLC
Channel Mode- PPPoE
Enable the NAPT
Enable IGMP
· Now type the username and password provided by the ADSL company (NTC)
· Select the type Continuous
· Click on modify
· Save
· Now lastly you are ready to enjoy with your internet.
